Genuine Ford Collision Repair Parts
When your vehicle has been involved in an accident, you face an important decision in choosing what kind of “crash parts” will be used to restore your vehicle.
Before you sign a repair authorisation, know the difference between the three major types of crash parts:

• Original Equipment (OE) or Genuine Ford crash parts
  These parts are made by, or for, the manufacturer of your vehicle, with equivalent OE fit, finish, structural integrity, corrosion protection and dent resistance – the basic quality requirements – as well as warranty coverage. If you lease your vehicle, check with Southside Ford to see whether you are required to use genuine crash parts for repairs.
  
  
• New aftermarket crash parts
  These are unauthorised copies of genuine crash parts. While less expensive, there are questions about the quality of these parts. You should also be aware that use of these parts may reduce resale value of your vehicle and may affect your vehicle's warranty.
  
  
• Salvaged crash parts
  These parts are recovered from “totaled” vehicles. Since the parts’ origin is unknown (nature of original damage, removal techniques, storage), quality concerns may exist. You should be aware of the sources of salvaged parts, if used on your vehicle.
  An important safety message.

Southside Ford recommends only Genuine Parts be used for repairs to vehicle safety systems such as airbags, safety belts and structural glass, and components that interact with vehicle safety systems. These parts should be installed using the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended procedures. You can be assured genuine Ford replacement parts are the same as those used on new vehicles, which meet Australian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
